I taught public school for 4 years before getting a masters degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Childhood Education. I wanted to complement my undergraduate Elementary Education degree. Therefore, I choose the childhood education concentration at seminary. Then I was a Assoicate Pastor for Children for over 13 years where I supervised paid workers and planned activities for a children's ministry at a local church. I had to maintain a budget for this ministry in the amount of $38,000. Over the course of all of these years, I have learned a vast array of skills.

I am the author of five historical novels and a number of articles, poems and short stories. I occasionally do short “residences” teaching Language Arts and Drama to special needs students in k-12 schools for VSA Arts of Florida. My graduate studies emphasized American and Tudor/Stuart History. My doctorate included a Criminal Justice minor. I regularly teach writing and grant writing seminars to adults, usually through libraries on weekends or in the evening.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with youth for over ten years. As a private music instructor and substitute teacher I have had the opportunity to work with students K-12 with a wide array of abilities. During the school year of 2009-2010 I was a para-professional in a Kindergarten PDD class (pervasive development disorder/autism) where I helped administer IEP directed lessons for 8 children on the spectrum. I have developed lesson plans for both my private students and the music production programs I've directed for the past 4 years.
