I own my own science consulting firm and like to dedicate a certain percentage of my time to education and public outreach projects including teaching, mentoring, and tutoring. I have taught high school and college students on and off since 1986 and have had several students go on to VERY successful careers, perhaps one of the best ways to evaluate ones ability as a teacher. All learning starts with a question, both by teacher and student alike. My role is both as teacher (coach and guide) and student (questioner). I should employ a variety of questioning techniques to better understand strengths and weaknesses, then prescribe remedies tailored for individual strengths and weaknesses, facilitating the learning process and desired outcome. Most people know intuitively how they learn, as well as which modalities work best for them. I firmly believe in students succeeding in school and life. Having a love for learning and school is the key to good grades and a healthy attitude. I don’t believe any child wants to fail. Quite the contrary, children want to succeed. When students fail, it is because the system failed them and not the other way around. A Little Bit About Me...

Although my bachelor's degree is in psychology, my interests throughout my education have been to study children; how they learn, how they think, and what I can do to help them better themselves.
