I first began tutoring when I was attending University of Michigan. It gave me great pleasure to help others succeed. After graduating I held many prestigous positions but none captured my passion as much as tutoring. Eventually my passion got the best of me and I began tutoring elementary, middle school, and high school students. For the past 5 years I have been professionally tutoring elementary school through freshman college students. I partner with local elementary - high schools: E.W. West Elementary, Landmark Academy,Langston High School, and Mills Springs Academy. I also work with Graduation Counselors to prepare their students to take ACT, ASVAB, and SAT tests. My students say that I make learning easy to understand. I believe every student has the potential to suceed. The key to their success is to teach by using the method in which they learn. Focused Math Tutor with dedication and direction

I am a very logical and result oriented person. If you are interested in seeing better results from the scores, tests and believe in making rapid change in your thought process, you may want to try me. I believe learning should be fun and not all work. Not all answers will be shortcuts that would involve lot of memorizing, but very systematic and logical way of approaching a problem for the student to gain interest and at the same time be able to address any problem out of the box. I do understand that not all students are the same and each one of them would require different teaching model to reach eventually to the same high levels. I have given several exams in and out of the country and there are definite tips that can help the student to achieve better results with the same knowledge level. I have scored over 95 percentiles in almost all the exams that I gave, some times wit ... read more

I believe that to get what you want in life, you simply need to help as many people get want they want in life. I am a firm believer in the abundance mentality, and if I can help a student overcome their barriers to learning then I am giving of my skills to help someone get to where they want to be. AS far as actual teaching styles go, I am demonstrative when necessary but always aiming to be more of a delegator to allow for a student to become a "learner" themselves. I have included descriptions of both styles below for you to understand their applications. Demonstrator or Personal Model Teachers who have a demonstrator or personal model teaching style tend to run teacher-centred classes with an emphasis on demonstration and modeling. This type of teacher acts as a role model by demonstrating skills and processes and then as a coach/guide in helping students develop and apply the ... read more

More About This Tutor...

Being a Georgia Southern graduate, I learned to enforce high level thinking and appreciation of education. I received a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering Technology, which has enabled me to get a feel of hands feel in the area of math and science. With previous work experience my communication and grammatical skills are at a professional level and have helped me be a successful engineer. During the last two years of college I volunteered at tutoring young minds in math and science which allowed me to share my knowledge with young generations of great thinkers.
I feel that teaching will not only inform young minds to think differently or make them more motivated to learn. But to allow one to master his or her knowledge in general, teaching allows oneself to fully understand the subject in their own minds. Young minds such as children are easily impacted by an adult, which I ... read more
