I love to share my "hands-on" experiences of the physical world with the students I teach. No matter their age, students can be captivated by the physical world around them. Science doesn't have to be boring. Mathematics is the "language" of science. I taught my own children an appreciation for learning mathematical tools as a means of understanding the physical sciences. My daughter presently hold a doctorate in Mathematics from Dartmouth. My students learn to use calculus, trigonometry, algebra and geometry as tools in their daily experiences. The real world use of mathematics and science is the emphasis of my lesson plans.

My innovative approach to tutoring is using the Sokratic Method while transcribing the results of the process. All questioning and answering derived from this method is meticulously and clearly documented on paper and in audio (later burned to a CD) for the pupil to refer back to as study material. This is a powerful study tool after the pupil's knowledge has been scrutinized, as it helps them visualize and review their thinking and learning. A Little Bit About Me...

The most important term to categorize my teaching style is low pressure. Many years of education in math and science has shown me that the intensity and stress often associated with this branch of education is entirely counterproductive. A more supportive approach to learning and math and science produces greater understanding and breadth of knowledge as well as creativity.
