Because I enjoy the learning environment and have been in one for 16 years, I have learned much about it. Everyone learns differently, and I feel that it is important to understand the student's easiest way to learn in order to proceed. I believe offering students the chance to use their imagination and to encourage creativity is the best approach to education. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Hope College in three years with a BS in Biology, a BA in Chemistry, and a minor in Classical Studies. I tutored throughout high school and college. I have tutored Latin (both into and upper level courses), Math (high school), history (high school,) Mythology (college), Biology (both intro and upper level courses), and Chemistry (both intro and upper level courses). In college, I was also a TA for Organic Chemistry discussion workshops, as well as biochemistry and organic chemistry labs. Also in college, I worked with science camps, grades 1-5. I have also worked at a summer camp, working with kids ages 8-20. I also have experience teaching Sunday school ages 4-12.

As a great advocate of education, I aim to offer my students with the best learning experience possible. For that reason, while tutoring in college, I started reading and learning about the many teaching styles used in schools. This helped me find my own teaching style that focuses on each student individually. I try to mix several teaching styles in order for the student to understand and feel comfortable with the material.
