Experienced Graphic Artist and Administrative Manager

Though I have only been teaching with the schools since 2011, I have been teaching on-and-off since 1985. I am a certified Martial Arts instructor and have taken my teaching methods from this, my military time, and even my life experiences. I believe that whatever we are learning that the classroom environment needs to stay fun and flowing smoothly. I believe that hands-on is better than reading the steps in a book and following just them. With doing that, the student learns only what is there and ends up stuck in a box. As designers, it is our job to think outside the box. So in this, we need to be taught this as well.
