My comments on tutoring Sign Language : I have 4 years of varied experience to help you with learning the basics of American Sign Language. I have been through a local training college and have volunteered around the Twin Cities. Experience working with adults and kids.

I prefer to meet in public places, libraries are a great place since ASL is very quiet.
I have finished interpreting classes at Saint Paul College and am currently volunteering in the Twin Cities area. Within the last 4 years I have gained considerable knowledge about the Deaf community, sign language, and the variety of ways it is used in society. American Sign Language is an up and coming language. Even if you only know the basics, this will help you experience a different culture right here in the U.S.

A Little Bit About Me...

I've recently finished the licensing program through the University of Minnesota. I expect to have my Minnesota State Teaching License in Elementary Education k-6 and Middle School Language Arts 5-8 by mid summer. Along with my teaching degree I have received a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders and have been working as a camp counselor through the Autism Society of Minnesota for the last three summers. I prefer to assertive in discipline but try to understand where children are coming from. I want children to learn above all else. I think that you need to be understanding but stern. I think that you need to be compassionate yet thorough.
