Awesome Chemistry Tutor

I am a huge proponent of active learning. I engage the student in solving problems, taking notes, and reviewing past work (tests, quizzes, labs, and homework). I am a helping and caring teacher. I want my students to do well and we use the entire tutoring time to make that happen.

After serving 4 years in the US Air Force I got out and completed my undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of West Florida. I relate well to high school and college students. I'm from Indiana originally and decided to come back and pursue an MBA at the University of Indianapolis. I enjoy tutoring students and helping them see the beauty of math and science. I notice that many high school instructors do not teach the basics of science. I believe it is important to cover the basics of the periodic table and elements for one to enjoy Chemistry. I worked at LearningRX as a cognitive skills trainer where I worked with students who were having difficulty in school and I was able to find their areas of difficulty and help build those areas up while also helping with their memory, visual acuity, and processing speed.
I like to have a relationship with the students I tutored where they feel comfortable with me; I want them to be able to tell me the problems they're having with the work and what I can do to help. I like to be friendly with them while still being an authority figure where they want to do their best.
