Learning can be fun!!

I love learning and teaching alike. My first teaching experience was in high school when I helped teach inner city children how to swim. Following high school, I earned a bachelor's degree in genetics at UC Berkeley, during which time I worked as a teacher's assistant for a genetics professor. While in medical school in Hungary, I tutored Hungarians in English, and medical students in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and biophysics. I completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine in the United States. As a senior resident I was responsible for teaching and supervising junior residents and interns. We play word games, read out loud, discuss cartoons and ask each other questions/answers. Try to vary up the hour. I am a very patient teacher and try to assess if the student is understanding all that I am teaching. I ask plenty of questions and try to get them to communicate with me and others in the group, if it's a class situation.
I taught English as a second language to adults and children in Austria and Germany while living there (total 4 years). I speak fluent German and lived in Europe for a total of 13 years. Over the past 15 years I have had variety of different teaching experiences. I taught literature as a TA at UC Santa Barbara while studying for my Masters. I have tutored K-12 students in both Math and English. While studying for my undergraduate I assited in running a homeless shelter where I taught many of the children reading, writing, and math.
