A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching approach is to be stern, but patient. Children need to be able to come to their own conclusions, whether in math, writing, or comprehension. This helps the children feel confident in their abilities to reason, discover, and come up with the proper solution to any probelm. However, I think a little guidance and help along the way may sometimes be neccessary. I graduated from FSU in December 2008. I have Certification in Social Studies grades 6-12. I completed my internship in a 6th grade geography class. I have also tutored in elementary math. I feel comfortable in most subjects up to 8th grade.
I would have to say that during my internship my teaching style was visual and audible teaching. I would make PowerPoint presentations, explain them, and work through them with my students. When tutoring math I would take my student step by step through example problems and then allow them to complete their own work under my supervision.
