My philosophy of teaching is guided mainly by one over-riding principle, respect for the student with focus on the individual. I have taken courses with large lecture sections where out of necessity the professor talked at, or worse over, the student audience, and in this situation I have noticed a tendency for students to disconnect from both the professor and the class material, which certainly hindered material comprehension. My comments on tutoring Anatomy : Human anatomy is a complex subject that goes far beyond memorizing nomenclature for the various systems. I teach anatomy and physiology with some historical trivia about the study of anatomy to keep students interested.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from FSU in December 2008. I have Certification in Social Studies grades 6-12. I completed my internship in a 6th grade geography class. I have also tutored in elementary math. I feel comfortable in most subjects up to 8th grade.
I would have to say that during my internship my teaching style was visual and audible teaching. I would make PowerPoint presentations, explain them, and work through them with my students. When tutoring math I would take my student step by step through example problems and then allow them to complete their own work under my supervision.
