The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. Tutoring and diagnostic testing is available after school, evenings (Monday – Friday) and Saturday mornings. The clinic is available year-round. Our testing clinician and school psychologist offer a Psychoeducational Evaluation to all new students. I like working with grade-school students, but I like best a variety of teaching situations. That for me truly represents the challange of teaching. Only a diversity of students can bring learning to itself, reveal the demands of cognition for what they are. As a philosophy PhD this interests me very much.
I have been teaching for 25 years. I began as a high-school teacher, taught grade school and special education, and then spent 20 years as a university professor of English and philosophy. I started tutoring as a graduate student and have been doing it on and off now for 20 years.

When I attended Malcolm X College, my first class was a math class. I excelled in the class with an A and was asked by the professor to become a teaxchers assistant in Basic Math and Algebra. After completing my next level Math(College Algebra) I received an A and continued to tutor his students. It was then I began Tammies Tutorial Service. I tutored all ages in Basic Math and Algebra. I also tutored College Algebra and Geometry. I was then hired by the Board of Education to Supervise and tutor young teen for the Chicago Mayor's Summer Program. I continued that position for 2 years.
