I am an upcoming freshman at East Georgia State College. During high school, I took all Advanced Placement classes and was rewarded the highest 4-year average in Mathematics, Science, and Literature. Also, I was a dual-enrolled student at EGSC during my high school career, completing advanced level courses in Literature and Mathematics. I scored a 1200 composite in math and reading on the SAT, earning the Zell Miller college tuition scholarship. Additionally, I tutored underclassman in all four core-subjects and for the SAT. I try to be really patient because I know some subjects aren't very logical to some students. I have been tutoring ever since elementary school. I liken tutoring sessions to the repair of a crumbling pyramid. I believe that every student is capable of learning and understanding the material that is presented to them in class, but that due to some reason, he or she does not understand some of the basic concepts that later material adds onto. Hence, the base of their pyramid is unstable. Usually in the first tutoring session, I try to gauge where the student is supposed to be in the material while at the same time trying to figure out where the missing foundation stones are.
