A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is a combination of the Demonstrator Model and the Facilatative Model. I start with establishing a logical prototype for how to think and approach problems, then I oversee, guide and direct by showing how to do things. Once the student has a basis of understanding, (s)he is encouraged to emulate my approach. I then move into the facilitative style and focus on guiding and directing by asking questions, exploring options, suggesting alternatives and encouraging growth and development of criteria to make informed choices. The overall goal is to develop in students the capacity for independent action, iniative and responsibility.

I believe it is extremely important to build a relationship with each student that I work with. I recently finished my student teaching experience, which I found to be extremely fulfilling.
