During my education, I was exposed to many subjects, ranging from Electrical Engineering to European Literature. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. I earned a degree in English in college. I prefer to relate things to the real world. For instance, when teaching anything dealing with Greek Mythology, I like to pick out something from the myth that is relevant to today (like from "The Iliad," the character Ajax is known as being stronger than Greece, and the soap brand Ajax has the slogan of being "stronger than grease"). I have loved English since I was in middle school. I went to college with the desire to graduate with a degree in English Education, but realized (after almost three years in this program) that the education program at my school was completely disorganized. I tutored two boys ages 6 and 9 in the areas of reading and spelling. I have been tutoring them on and off during the school year for the past 2 years.
