Put the student at ease since stress does not equate.

Most student difficulties come from a lack in understanding the basics in math. I try to find a starting point to build from there. Because of Covid-19 I now tutor ONLY on-line. I use FaceTime and along with a whiteboard, I create a classroom environment to provide the student total participation. And they all love it.

I find it partucularly useful to take time to get to know the student's interests so that I can relate each subject to things that the student is familiar with. Making this connection between a difficult concept and the student's personal areas of interest helps the student feel comfortable with the subject and therefore more confident thinking through each question presented. Once confidence is established, it becomes easier for students to develop an understanding of the subject area that can be applied without the tutor present.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am probably not the typical college graduate. I entered the work force and gained more responsibility quickly. I eventually believed that in order to maintain my growth, I would need a degree and went to the University of Phoenix for a degree in Business Management.
