My experience, (both academic and work)has been widely varied, ranging from research and engineering to financial management in a corporate environment, followed by golf course design and landscape management. In addition I used my experience in construction and woodworking to build and market patio furniture. Unfortunately the housing depression of the mid 2000's caused the business to be non profitable and was closed. Since 2005 I have been semi retired and used my construction experience to work at a lumber and hardware store.

A Little Bit About Me...

Even though I hold a business degree I have always had a love for working with children. As a college student I worked for two different families as a nanny, where I assisted a total of five children with their school work and projects among other things. After obtaining my BS in Finance from the University of Central Florida I went on to get married and work in a bank. It was shortly after that when I realized that my real passion was with children. When I became pregnant I left my banking position to be a stay at home mom. Since then I have had four children and currently subsitute teach for Sarasota County School Board.

As a graduate of Indiana University, I was driven to academic success as a Dean's List student in attaining a degree in Business Management. The main goal is for the student to do well in the course and the first step is to understand the material in the book and to complete all of the homework assignment. That tests are usually based on what was assigned in the homework. The student should do as much of the reading and homework as they can on their own then go over areas where they have problems or questions with the tutor. I can help them work out the problem areas and discuss the subjects with them.
I had 10 courses in accounting as an accounting major and took 5 courses in economics even though only 3 were required becuase I liked economics.
