A Little Bit About Me...

I like to teach individual or group lessons. At college of the Desert, I had a reputation for being an easy going with a lot of patience when tutoring. My teaching philosophy is to listen to the student and to focus in his or hers needs. I use scientific or graphic calculators when needed. Also, I use computer software to accelerate their learning experience.
I have been in school the last 10 years. I earned two Liberal Arts degrees in 2005. I also earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona in 2009. During my college years, I tutored college level math and college level physics. I also worked for a private tutoring company in Montclair, CA. My specialty are Math, Chemistry and Physics. I really enjoy tutoring kids in science classes because it is something that interests me and that I understand, so I want anyone who I tutor to know everything that I know. Since I am set to going to Physical Therapy school in 2010, it is a subject that I have to know very well, therefore, I have a lot of information about it.
I graduated from Cal Baptist University with a 3.87 GPA. My major was Kinesiology with concentrations in exercise science and physical education. During my senior year in college, I would regularly tutor my fellow classmates in anatomy and physiology and I am just finishing up taking biology at College of the Desert.

As engineering student I was always dedicated to my studies,and I truly enjoy learning. During my high school and college years I was a swimming coach at the local swim club and that is were I realized my love for teaching. After moving to the U.S. I worked as a substitute teacher for the desert sands unified school district for almost 8 months before entering my CLS training program. I am currently working with the School of medical technology program to enhance the curriculum and better the educational experience.
I am a person that is driven by the joy you get when a student finally understand something they didn't think they could. I am a teacher that will change my approach depending on the student and I will not stop until I am sure that they "get it". My strengths are physics, chemistry and math and i love making these subjects fun for all ages.
