My comments on tutoring Writing : I love to write; whether it be an essay or a creative writing piece. I have never gotten below a "B" in college for my writing essays.

I have tutored adults for free when they have needed a good eye to evaluate their work. Many adults can not spell and have trouble building a basic sentence. I am good at proofreading and helping the thoughts to flow better. I ask a lot of questions in order to help the student understand the thought process.
I prefer the style of patience and hands on. No computers, no spell check. the only way to learn is to do it yourself.

A Little Bit About Me...

Children all learn different, which is why I believe in using direct instruction in guiding their learning. Some children are more visual learns, while others may be more auditory. Varying the levels of teaching can allow for each child's needs to be met. I feel that I am able to adapt and change what I need to teach to meet those needs. I also believe scaffolding is a key component in guiding the way a child is able to learn.
