Each student I had tutored when I was in college I had basically spoke with them, got to learn what they strong points were, their weaknesses, and areas that needed more base learning. I tailored lesson plans to help fill in their educational gaps, created small weekly assignments, and also helped with their current homework/lesson plan. I believe everyone learns in different ways. Teaching is a difficult task. Everyone learns at a different pace and on their own level. Some students are quick learners and their teacher only needs to go over the lesson once; other students need to hear the subject content in a different form to understand it. Having said that, I can't explain my teaching style as a cut and dry formula. The skill level of each student and the way they process information will determine how I will present them with questions and explanations. While attending Centenary College, I ascertained the skills necessary to overcome any mathematical problem or situation that may come my way. I also was enrolled in the Mathematics Honor Society where I tutored students for the Math Praxis Exam for my entire senior year.
