I chose this major because I am fascinated by children, and how they all develop at their own individual rate. I am patient and kind, but at the same time, I like push a child to reach the potential that they usually do not ever realize they have. Children have different methods of learning and unfortunately, classroom settings do not meet all the students' needs. Some are more hands on, while some are just listeners. I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages. I taught dance for my high school years to younger children and I believe that has taught me a lot about teaching styles. I am a secondary math teacher. I use several different teaching methods in my classroom to ensure I reach as many students as possible. I also worked at Sylvan Learning Center until it closed. I tutored for all levels of math. I helped students at the elementary level with the learning program. I also did individualize tutoring for high school students who came in for homework help.
