Experience Summary
I have always been driven to do more with my life. I have always had goals in life and often times pursued them. My BS degree in Biology was one of these goals I have accomplished. In my education at the University of South Dakota, I have learned many skills that I know I will use in the future. Some of these sills not only include the studies of Biology and Chemistry, but also my Spanish speaking skills have improved. I have also learned a great deal about the fine arts which was never my specialty in high school. Along with the educational skills come the skills of working with different types of people and learning patience along the way. My easygoing manner helps students face their math anxiety. I am good at keeping students on task. I am able to break complex problems into small understandable parts. I have extensive experience in applying mathematical concepts in the real world through the work I have engaged in. I have worked extensively with GPS as well as many other scientific applications. I have experience tutoring both high school and college students. I also have experience tutoring younger children.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages. I taught dance for my high school years to younger children and I believe that has taught me a lot about teaching styles. I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate or in the same way. Students all have different styles of learning just as teachers have their different styles of teaching. Not only have I taught dance, but I also tutored through high school and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do believe ever child has that opportunity to learn if they are given the chance by a good teacher.
