I enjoy working with children and believe I have the qualites such as patience, perseverance, and desire to help all types of students succeed. I believe with guidance and a positive attitude children are able to accomplish what they set out to accomplish. My ability to communicate well and stay positive is important for a child's growth and I strive to make a difference in their lives.
As a graduate from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology I have gained knowledge and expertise in communicating with people, presenting information, and expressing myself in papers, essays and reports. Following the completion of my degree I had the opportunity to become a baseball coach where I fully utilized my communication skills in my attempt to enlighten the players.

I studied post secondary in high school and graduated in the top ten of my class. I was on the deans list every year of my college career. I was a teachers aid at the University of Minnesota for three years in the anatomy department. I was a the lead embalmer for the University and worked for the Anatomy bequest program. I was licensed in mortuary science in 2007 and have been working as a funeral director and Retail manager for the past three years.
I believe that the purpose of tutoring is to help students help themselves, or to assist or guide them to the point at which they become an independent learner. When I first started college, I had no idea what to major in. I started taking creative writing and literature classes though, and found my niche in English. I enjoy writing, reading, proofreading, checking grammar and punctuation, and find myself reviewing billboards and magazines for errors. I've been able to put these skills to actual use as an instructor, tutor, and advisor for college students. I have taught Business Writing, Business Communication, and Keyboarding classes. I have also had a great deal of experience with public speaking and have played piano for more than 20 years.
