A Little Bit About Me...

I am always driven for the desire to learn. I hold a B.S. in Biological Science and minor in Chemistry. In addition I took additional courses in human physiology, and anatomy. In my line of work I am training sales force from U.S. and Latin America (Spanish) on new technological applications that pertain to advancing business for my employer. I have extensive laboratory experience, and have had a chance to train lab personnel on lab procedures and theory.

A Little Bit About Me...

I learned at a young age that everyone is different when it comes to learning. My goal as a teacher is to learn the student’s needs and apply a curriculum that will help the student reach their potential. I graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara two years ago with two degrees in Spanish Literature and Women’s Studies I graduated with honors from both subjects of study. I tutoring when in high school. I continued to tutor while I was getting my undergrad. I tutored college students from my college and those surrounding me. I have taught at an adult school for a summer while I was getting me credential. It was very rewarding helping people receive their GED and better their lives.I also interned at a Junior High, teaching math. Once I received my credential, I worked at an independent study program for at risk students and again felt great about making a difference in these student's lives. I would describe my teaching style as flexible. I believe that students learn differently and it's up to the teacher to adjust accordingly. My greatest asset as a teacher is my patience. If a student doesn't get it it's no problem. We just do it again and perhaps in a different manner. I love to learn and to teach others. I have had many teachers (in 2 different countries) and I have noticed that there are many that are VERY good at their subject, but they cannot teach it well to their students which I think should be as important. As a Math tutor I heard that comment often about some teachers. Patience and time is crucial and so is relating theoretical problems to practical problems and/or relating them to something the students can relate to.
