I believe in meeting each child at his/her current skill level and building confidence and concepts from there. Each student has his/her own strengths and weaknesses, and learns at his/her own pace. Rather than expecting all students to understand a concept using one teaching style, I teach a lesson using multiple modalities followed by step-by-step tasks which reward successive approximations to a concept. The students who catch on quickly can use the time to build on their skills and expand upon the concepts, while I work more closely with students struggling with the concepts presented. I graduated with 2 bachelor of Science degrees, Biology and Chemistry. I have also completed Mathematics as a minor. I have tutored when I was in College for about 3 years. I tutored students in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I was also a peer advisor creating and presenting academic programs to first year students helping them choose a major and plan their four-year schedule.
