Elementary Grammar is one of my top subjects! I have taught elementary grades for over 15 years.

My teaching style is to engage the student as much as possible and to utilize as many senses as possible. I will often use a "game" to practice a skill. When teaching a skill, my emphasis is understanding "why" something is done a particular way rather than stressing straight memorization.
I have taught "students" from age 3 to age 73. Most of my experience has been in elementary classroom situations, but I have tutored individual students, taught computer skills to business classes and senior citizens, as well as business technology classes in a community college. I am also a co-founder of a small non-graded school which has now existed for over 40 years and is recognized as an established school by the state of Ohio. I enjoy teaching and enriching the lives of those with whom I have the privilege of working.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught in the Cloverleaf Schoolistrict for 9 years. I spent the first 3 years teaching as a building sub in grades 1-6. I spent 6 years in first grade teaching all areas including math, science, reading, phonics, and vocabulary. I was very active in the community as well, helping with coaching, announcing and tutoring at the elementary level.
I believe in using a sense of humor to help develop a positive rapport with the students. I spent a lot of time developing vocabulary and using phonics to help the students build fluency in reading.

Teacher for hire!

I currently teach at a Christian School and I am an intervention specialist. I have been teaching since 2003. I started my career as a tutor, then I taught first grade for three years, I went back to tutoring until I finished my master's degree in special education. This is when I was hired to teach students with Autism and other learning disabilities. I truly love what I do and I enjoy my students as well.
