A Little Bit About Me...

The methods of teaching I was instructed when I obtained my Bachelor in Education at the University of Akron Ohio, from 1989-1991, was the following Integrated, Whole language approach and Montessori. The method we were instructed to use in the Akron city school system was Integrated which uses basic and whole language approach language Arts. These integrated units allow us the opportunity to make sure children are learning relevant information and applying that knowledge to real life scenarios. Language Arts is what I use in all my teachings and lesson plans.

Teaching science is my greatest passion, as I feel many people have many misconceptions in the field. I am patient, but firm, and acclimate to the climate and the students around me to best facilitate learning. I am always available by email to my students, and will do anything I can to help an eager student. It is important, in the sciences, for students to conduct their own research and to be active learners, as in my experience, this is vital to the retention of information. I enjoy teaching a variety of topics and feel that any student can learn and enjoy any subject when within a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
