I had excelled in my first American Sign Language class in the 10th grade and proceeded to take the progressive courses that my high school offered. I also took a Psychology course and graduated with an Advanced Diploma in 2005. Immediately following graduation, I enrolled at Germanna Community College and became certified in American Sign Language in 2009 and in 2010, became certified as a Paraprofessional Counselor. I've completed a 225 hour internship at the disability Resource Center under the supervision of their Deaf and Hard of Hearing Coordinator. Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I have a B.A. in ASL. I was taught by Deaf professors and have many Deaf friends. I have worked as a Deaf advocate and am aware of not only the language but the culture, history, and social issues in the Deaf community.

I obtained my Associates in ASL then went on to my Bachelors in ASL. I plan to pursue a Masters in Social Work for Deaf and HH from Gallaudet University. I have taken several summer classes at Gallaudet to immerse myself in the Deaf world. I worked as a Deaf advocate in upstate NY and maintain advocacy ties within the Deaf community. I served as Vice President of Alpha Mu Gamma which is an honors society for foreign language. I was inducted due to my achievements in ASL. I am very passionate about ASL and the Deaf community.
