My first teaching experience came from tutoring my own daughter who has a learning disability.This experience has taught me to see first hand the difficulties children can have learning new concepts. Happily my daughter graduated from Keiser University with honors. I also teach a High School Geometry and Algebra Two class. Students and parents have both expressed that my warm nature and straight forward explanations have made learning difficult concepts much easier.
I love working with children who need a little extra support. The proud look of accomplishment children who struggle have when they succeed is very rewarding. For a student to really understand a math they need to learn the concept not just the formula. Many times this means taking the abstract and making them as concrete as possible. I am experienced working with management and end-users to design, document, develop, implement, and maintain software in a wide variety of applications on a wide variety of computer platforms. My teching experience comes as a volunteer at PromiseLand Ministries, a homeless shelter with a drug-alcohol rehabilitation program, run by Spring Creek Community Church, in Crawfordville, Florida.
