I am a Psychology major at the Univeristy of Central Oklahoma with a minor in Art and Sociology. (GPA: 3.5) I also have previouse tutored at Kumon. I am a very hard working student and I expect others to be hard working as well. There is not shame in saying that you need help. We all do at one poing in time or another. I myself have had tutoring in the past. Some things are hard to understand and we just need a little help from someone else. I promise not to be a stick in the mud but I will make sure that the job gets done and you recieve what you have paid for. I like to study in different ways. As a graduate in special education, with emphasis in speech and hearing, I helped students improve language skills and articulation deficiencies. I used their curriculum and texts. I then obtained my master's degree in Special Education - Mild/Moderate Disabilities, and certification in Elementary Education. I worked with students who were general ed and special needs. For the last 10 years I have taught middle school level, except for teaching a 2nd grade class for one year, and acting as speech therapist for grades K-6. I enjoy teaching children of all ages, but young children in particular because they are so excited about learning new things. I am patient and considerate of each child's individual learning style, and believe that instilling confidence in each child's individuality helps them become strong, confident adults. After graduating, I did substitute teaching for the rest of the school year, primarily in the Yukon School District. At that time, the market was flooded with new graduates with degrees in Elementary Education; therefore, I took a position working for the State of Oklahoma. I have always been the “go to” person at work whenever writing skills were required, and became known for my grammatical and spelling abilities. I have also been a mentor and trainer of other employees. I have been an avid reader all of my life and feel that literature can enrich lives both young and old.
