My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I can help student with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. I have had a number of years of experience in each of them and I can help students quickly gain proficiency in each program.

I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.
I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. My career path has winded around quite a bit but always focuses on computer science and math education. A Little Bit About Me...

Prior to and during my employment with Metropolitan Community College (Between 1998 and 2007) I was a volunteer tutor with non traditional students in the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development ABE/GED program of Metro community college.
I love to see the proverbial light come on and the students eyes widen and they say "OH! I get it!" I've tutored a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds. I try to make mathematics fun, like a puzzle to be figured out, and remove the "hard chore" stigma which is generally hard pressed into a students mind by the time I arrive. Getting the student to believe in themselves and believe mathematics isn't a daunting task it's just difficult until you learn the tricks is my goal. I've notice most students find word problems to be most challenging so I purchased a word problem book to draw examples from which seems to help.
