In my experience I have found that it is always better to not only provide the didactic, but with it there must also be an ability for the student to relate personally. As it relates to methods of instruction, I have always utilized the three step method of: 1) See one, 2) Do one, and 3) Teach one. This is also akin to crawl, walk, and run method. There must always be a teacher student means of communication that is functional and effective.

A Little Bit About Me...

What I like about helping people learn more and do better in communicating and expressing themselves is that it gives me a chance to "give back" all that I know in a special way. I teach people how to do things through a method of "learning by doing" with practical (and many times personal experience) exercises. Writing and communicating is a craft that anyone can do if they understand how to "map out" their thoughts and ideas in an outline and then "build from there" filling in the gaps.

My approach to teaching begins with having a high expectation for what my students can accomplish. Therefore, my goal is, in part, to help my students love learning and to translate the love for learning into higher achievements. I try to inspire the students In terms of style, I explain the basic concept being taught and then illustrate by way of examples. I combine a bit of lecturing with meaningful interaction. Next, it is the students term to practice what has been taught. I may use a variety of interactive learning games in order to re-enforce the concept being taught. Somewhere down the line some for of testing is given for the purpose of checking to see if the student is grasping the concepts being taught.
