After living in Spain and learning Spanish as a teenager, I accelerated quickly in the Spanish language and literature program, later going on into the Master's program. I earned my first teaching credential in California where I taught for several years before moving to Missouri.
I believe the best learning occurs when both a discrete point and holistic approach are used interactively. A Little Bit About Me...

As a highschool student I took an early interest in helping to educate my peers. I worked in several different classrooms to help individuals needing additional instruction in reading and math. As a college student I began to narrow my focus and realize my love of teaching English as a Second Language. I had several different student ranging from Mexicans living in the area, Moldovan, Taiwanese, and Chinsese whom I helped in reading, writing, vocabulary and basic conversation. I believe teaching should be preparation for the real world outside of school. For that reason I strive to make all assignments relevant, meaningful, and useful to the students. I try to fuel motivation by making the assignments fun and purposeful. A Little Bit About Me...

Having graduated with a degree in elementary education, I have learned the variety of students' learning styles and know how to target each child's unique style of learning. With a strong background in reading, English, and history throughout high school and college courses, I have been able to use engaging activities and multiple strategies to tutor and teach others.
