This has proven very effective once the foundational background is established. I first like to understand the student's learning style, as we all have different methods of learning. Some are visual, others do better with reading a text, or using examples. I use a variety of methods to teach my students, depending on age. I also want to learn where and why the student is struggling with the subject. I make my tutoring sessions interesting so that I capture the student's attention and thoroughly engage him/her. I am patient, understanding, and considerate of my students, instilling confidence and pride in learning.
