Creating Confident Students via Creative Learning

I have assisted students with tutoring for most of my life. My mother has worked as a teacher since I was born. I have a broad spectrum in technical and creative skills when working with students. I worked as the Geology Tutor at UNC Asheville. I have worked as a tutor for K-5 students at Hall Fletcher Elementary School (also in Asheville, NC). A teacher never stops teaching, and never ceases learning.

I have to first find the learning style of the student. As a teacher, I find that students have diverse ways of learning and that I must adapt my teaching style to their needs. For instance, I have some students who are auditory learners and sometimes retain information more if information is read orally to them. Some students must have a generous amount of explanation as to the content of what he or she is reading while otheers require many visual cues to accompany their learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that my teaching style is very hands on and easy to follow. I have the ability of simplifying statistical and mathematical procedures into easier, more understandable terms.
