I am an 15 year IT professional, the last 3 with the University of Iowa. I also have 6 years of chemical/biologincal operations and technical writing experience with Abbott Laboratories and SC Johnson Wax. Schooling includes a BS in Business/MIS with a minor in English and an MBA with concentration in International Business and Finanace. It is a matter of finding what works best for the learner and having the patience to get them through the fears that come with learning something new...or learning something that has not come easily. I have worked with students of many different backgrounds, ages, and abilities. I love to help a student find that "a-ha" moment where he or she finally understands a concept that has been a struggle. I enjoy teaching new concepts or working with students to master a concept.
I currently teach in an interim classroom for secondary students who have been suspended or expelled. I teach all subjects, but am most comfortable with LA and math. Before this, I taught in a high school classroom for students with behavioral disabilities. I taught LA and social skills.
