Other experience I have is derived from having taken and successfully passed (A) those courses I can tutor. My style of teaching music to students meets the Indiana State Music Standards, and Gardner's 9 Intelligences including the incorporation of various learning styles to fit the needs of each individual student. Learning must be fun, especially in a tutoring context. In my previous tutoring experiences, I always attempted to turn tasks into games or opportunities for creative expression. For example, multiplication tables can become an opportunity to play a relay game. Learning different parts of speech can be made enjoyable by creating an imaginative story. My particular interest is helping children develop a passion for creative writing and reading. These were essential elements of my own childhood and my development as a writer, and I'm excited to share this experience with others.
