I believe tutoring is a really helpful and useful addition to class and studying by oneself because it is reviewing class material once again and it is a way for students to be accountable to yet another person who knows the answers to their questions and can help them work to that answer as well.
I usually start with a diagnostic test to concentrate on weaker areas then come up with a weekly plan focusing on those areas. After a lesson, I usually give worksheets and sometimes online exercises, depending on the subject, and use videos and games if applicable.

I try to put the difficult concepts of mathematics and chemistry into words and experiences that the student can understand. In the words of one of my tutees I teach "Barney-Style". My experience is principally in marine research. In such, I have taught at three universities. Most recently I have been giving scheduled seminars for several years. I am semi-retired. My science background is mult-disciplinary. I enjoy most teaching ecology (both marine and terrestrial), geology, biology, physics, and chemistry.
