Hands on- creative-student centered learning!

I am a certified teacher. I have taught first grade and I am currently teaching second grade. I have 2 years experience as a tutor for students in elementary school and also high school. I work hard to help students do the best they can. I look for ideas outside the box to help students learn. Along with hands on activities, I also incorporate catchy ways to remember certain objectives. I make learning fun by creating a great relationship with the student which allows them to learn and want to learn.
I think that a lot of learning happens by students being actively engaged in what they are learning. I try to get/make hands on activities for students to learn.

Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in the subject, so I'd like to think I know something about it by now.

I'm a recent college graduate from NC State, with a degree in Creative Writing. However, the CW course instilled in me knowledge in a variety of fields from film to philosophy, and as a requirement of modern education made me more than just fluent in the language of computers. I'm a would-be author, and a writer of short stories, and have won an honorable mention in a few poetry contests. In college I was frequently asked by friends in less liberal majors for help in writing papers and getting ideas across, because while a Biology major dreads the 25 page research paper, the English major just shrugs and says "I just wrote like, three of those yesterday." A Little Bit About Me...

While working on my Management MBA in Largo, FL I was elected head of the English Learning Center, and held this position for two years. The purpose of the center was to tutor international students in the English language and to assist them with paper and project revision. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.
