A Little Bit About Me...

I've worked as an engineer in the electronics and electrical engineering industry for 14 years. I have tutored children in math and science for the last 4 years, most recently in high school algebra and geometry.
I believe in demonstrating how to do the work and then guiding the children as they apply what has been demonstrated. The best way to learn is by doing under supervised guidance. Once the children learn to apply the proper steps to accomplish the task at hand, the feeling of accomplishment drives them to continue on their own.

A Little Bit About Me...

As both an undergraduate and as a master student, I was compelled to help others who had struggled as I had with mathematics courses through the tutoring I did as part of the means of financing my university education in mathematics. I've earned both a bachelor's degree in Finance and in Mathematics with Computer Science emphasis. For four years I assisted student from mathematical topics ranging from basic mathematics through Calculus and Differential Equations. In addition, I have also helped grade school children learning to read, from Kindergarten through second grade.

Science is rewarding to teach because it incorporates other disciplines like math. I often receive comments about my effective teaching style. Currently i am working as tutor for math and biology for TRio services at Idaho State University. As I am an international student, i was also a high school teacher in my home country where i used to teach math, Science and environment. Apart from this, i am working in research in the field of environmental management.
As i believe in learning form the depth of the knowledge, i don't stress on memorizing the existing things, rather i emphasize student on understanding those topics. If some thing is difficult, that actually occurs because the student have not got the full idea of that matter. Once the crux is understood, the problem no more exists. I like to first get an idea of what the student knows about the problem.. I find that the more time I spend listening to what they know it naturally turns into what pieces I need to add-in. Unless they came to the session to learn new material that would be a different scenario entirely in which it would depend on the student how I taught. I would have to find out what type of a learner they are. Whether it be a visual learner, if they need examples or are an entirely conceptual type of learner.
Throughout college I had extensive experience working with classmates while we solved math equations and physics problems together. I did volunteer work teaching English to children in Mexico as well as teaching English to college age students in Mexico.
