I taught high school social studies for 26 years at Tates Creek High School, primarily as a psychology teacher. I also taught a year at Tates Creek Middle School in the areas of Citizenship and American History. Since retiring, I spent five years as a substitute teacher in the Fayette County system, teaching everything in the areas of math, science, social studies, English and also in a variety of elective studies- from creative writing to geometry and history to earth science. Composition is one of my top subjects! For 27 years, I have taught this subject, as well as, watched students of mine excel with the skills I have given them. After doing something this long, a person would have to be extremely ignorant to not be accomplished.

I have 27 years experience in the high school English classroom, and I have a Master's Degree in English from the University of KY. I can make learning fun, No Doubt!

Young inexpensive tutor with modernized teaching strategies

I love to learn, which is why I love teaching children. Every child learns differently, because of this, teaching is a learning process as well! I believe that students learn best through hands on activities that allow them to internalize the concepts they are struggling with. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style involves what the student wants to achieve out of my teachings. For example i ask the students during their first lesson, "What musical groups and styles inspire you?" This way I can get a feel for what they are looking for.
