I have taught high school math for 8 years. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, AFM, Pre-Calculus, Discrete Math, and Calculus AB. I love math and enjoy teaching it to students. I know that math isn't always the topic of choice for students. I have the patience of a saint and would help you reach your goal. I am available for mornings or afternoons. i will travel 20-30 minutes from my home. Although, I have access to resources, I will require that you bring your school textbook. If the student doesn't understand the first time I explain something, I will explain it in a different way and will keep explaining it in different ways until he/she fully understands what's being taught. From my tutoring experience I have noticed that most students who have trouble understanding a difficult concept do so because they did not understand a more basic prerequisite concept, so I try to help students "fill in the gaps." When working with students, I work through a few problems with them, and then I have them do a few problems on their own to see if they understand. If I see that the student does not understand some prerequisite concepts required to solve the problems, I make sure to have them understand those concepts before continuing with the current problems.
