Some students have disabilities that make drilling or repetition styles of teaching and tutoring difficult and tiresome, while other thrive on it. Building a good relationship with a child is key to helping them learn. When good relationships are developed children can then trust the teacher or tutor to help them in whatever way possible. This relationship builds a good emotional bank account and children will do hard things when asked. I know that all children can learn. I have seen it while working with the wonderful children at the school I worked at.
I recently graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2011. I am a graduate in Communications can help in English, Writing, Editing but also took AP Calculus and AP Statistics and passed both tests. I love math but feel that communicating through writing is very important. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student at UofU and BYU I tutored and was tutored myself. While attending BYU I worked in the student advisement center part-time, mentoring and helping students develop their schedules, and tutored them in subject matter from courses I'd already completed. I served as a volunteer representative for the LDS church for two years in Denmark and Iceland. I speak fluent Danish and Norwegian, and I taught extensively on many topics to all age groups while over there. I've tutored other students, friends, and family in math and math-related fields(up to calculus III level math). I excelled at Math and English composition in school.
