A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my undergraduate studies at BYU, I taught and tutored in Spanish for up 24 hours each week. I supervised 5 districts of students, 10 teachers and up to 65 students at one time, while still teaching in the classroom. Additionally, I graded papers for college-level business courses for several years. As part of this experience, I provided feedback on writing, grammar, and content. I have now been a TA for more than 30 college business courses. I have finished all pre-medicine science classes with a science GPA of 3.3.

Building a good relationship with a child is key to helping them learn. When good relationships are developed children can then trust the teacher or tutor to help them in whatever way possible. This relationship builds a good emotional bank account and children will do hard things when asked. I know that all children can learn. I have seen it while working with the wonderful children at the school I worked at.
I recently graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2011. I am a graduate in Communications can help in English, Writing, Editing but also took AP Calculus and AP Statistics and passed both tests. I love math but feel that communicating through writing is very important. I believe you can only help the student learn if you are willing to take time to "bend down" to their understanding and help lift them up. If the teacher's listening and communication skills are focused on the individual(s) being taught, the learner will let the teacher know when they are grasping and/or absorbing new material as well as when they(the student) reach their capacity. I believe that in learning it's important to pace one's self, allow the mind time to digest new material, and in finding areas of learning that spark passion. I got my BS, MS and Ph.D degrees in Physics. I had been a professor at a university in China for five years, a teaching assistant/tutor at Brigham Young University for five years and an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University for one semester. I can teach/tutor fundamental physics and math courses.
First of all, I like teaching physics and math. Many students complained that physics was too hard for them to learn.
