A Little Bit About Me...

Over the past three years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to tutor a wide variety of students on a part-time basis. I enjoy the challenge of transmitting information in a way that is both accessible and edifying. This experience, combined with a world-class education from Mercer University, enables me to engage students on a level not typically found with other tutors.
My teaching style reflects the environment of a college classroom. Lessons are centered around unrestricted discussion of topic and formal lecturing. The most central part of my style , however, is guiding the student to realize the answer for themselves. Not only is this method more conducive to learning, it is an indispensable tool for boosting confidence.

My teaching style is conversational and generally straightforward. I work through translators, so it is important to keep a positive presentation style to avoid misinterpretation and miscommunication. After each segment, I ask the students if they have any questions or concerns. The students are also invited to stop me at any time to ask me questions. I also like to provide visual demonstrations on a white board, which helps me to explain my point in further detail. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught three years of Elementary school in Georgia. I taught two years in third grade and most recently, I have taught fifth grade.
I love teaching and working with children. I try to make my lessons enjoyable for my students. I especially enjoy hands-on lessons where the students are very involved. I also like to use Constructivism in my classroom where I let my students create their own methods to solve problems. I very much want to be a positive influence in children's lives.
