Throughout my college years I have been employed by two different after school programs for a combined amount of 6 years tutoring/teaching in public school after school programs. (Grades K-6) I also spent 2 months teaching full time 3rd and 4th grade after college prior to unfortunately being laid off due to financial losses in the school. I also tutored English in college through an Advanced English class I was placed in.
I have a passion and calling for working with children. From the time I was a child, I knew this is what I was meant to do. I believe children are the hope of our country, and that every child is capable of learning and expanding their knowledge. Knowledge is power, and if a child is given the proper encouragement and motivation they can and will succeed. I have worked as a personal tutor in the past, and have helped students with a variety of subjects from Trigonometry to Spanish. I have also worked with international students learning English. I experienced great academic success in high school (I earned very competitive scores on several AP and SAT exams), graduated as a valedictorian, and received a 4 year scholarship to attend California State University, Long Beach.
