A Little Bit About Me...

The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Especially in Math, but also in many other subjects, concepts build upon each other. For this reason, I like to explain not just *how* to get there, but also *why* we got that answer; then students have a firmer foundation for the trickier concepts. I love seeing the lightbulb "go on," when kids finally "get it."
I have been a teacher for 7 years. My comments on tutoring Typing Skills : I have worked as a transcriptionist--these fingers fly. I can help you with touch typing, ergonomics, speed, and more. I know games that build basic skills and real-world exercises to enhance your technique.

I prefer personal and small group teaching, but I can also do online tutoring with Webex. I like to get to know my students and their goals. I can help students set those goals, make plans, and achieve. I have lots of experience creating curriculum materials and lessons, and I try to find a real-life application to each lesson.
