I prefer a relaxed relaltionship with students regardless of their age. I do not try to force anything, rather comfortably explain things on a level that can be understood by the student. I try to have fun with the subject, and make it interesting on the student's level of understanding/experience. I realize some students may not be comfortable in a remedial situation, and try to encourage participation in a non-threatening manner.
Earned degree 1966-Have traveled multiple times in Europe where I have successfully used the French language in French speaking and non-French speaking areas. Have tutored for two years through two different services. I very much enjoy helping others to learn another language, and have fun with it. I am also qualified to tutor basic math and reading.

My teaching style is to discover what each student needs to learn in order to be successful. I teach in a way that is most effective with that student. I have found that students can make rapid progress when they have an opportunity to fill in the gaps of their skills and knowledge. Over the years, I have learned many strategies to help students acquire the skills they need. I help students to build on their strengths as they overcome their academic weaknesses. My approach depends on what level of students you are dealing with; and I am good at it. I always have some tactics on how boring subjects catch the student's interest. Teaching your kid doesn't need a genius one but first it does need somebody who has the heart to make them feel that they are special and making them feel that we, parents have confidence with our kids.
