I am a “hands-on” type of teacher who likes to get a lot of senses involved in order to enhance student learning. I generally do some initial direct instruction while explaining a new concept, and then I reinforce and assess understanding by doing group projects or activities. Children all learn different, which is why I believe in using direct instruction in guiding their learning. Some children are more visual learns, while others may be more auditory. Varying the levels of teaching can allow for each child's needs to be met. I feel that I am able to adapt and change what I need to teach to meet those needs.
