I then continued my education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. I am currently student teaching in Des Moines and will be finished in May. I will have my teaching degree in Elementary and I will also have my endorsement in math with grades K-8. During my years at UNI, I have had many opportunities to work with elementary students. I enjoy a very hands-on approach to teaching where students remain attentive through an energetic and lively approach. As a Senior in High School I spent a semester in Mettmann, Germany. During my stay I helped my host mom, who was also the head English teacher at the school I attended. I assisted her teach 6th and 7th graders and had the opportunity to head the classes on multiple occasions. She also volunteered to teach English to elderly citizens once a week, which I also filled in for her when she had schedule conflicts.
